  6.   { VideoNexus }  must be installed on a hard drive.  Do not attempt to
  7.   install to, or run the program on, a floppy drive.

  9.   To install, type:

  11.                  A:INSTALL <Enter>     or     B:INSTALL <Enter>
  12.  
  13.   There must be about 1.4MB of free space available on the target hard
  14.   drive or the install process will be incomplete, with indication of an
  15.   error and an exit to DOS.   After installation, the program uses about
  16.   675k of space.   The install process will create a directory on the
  17.   destination drive, the default selection being  \VIDEONX.   The install
  18.   process does NOT modify your path, autoexec.bat, or config.sys.

  27.   The following paragraph relates *ONLY* to bulletin board downloads:
  28.     If this program has been downloaded from a BBS,  the three files may be
  29.     moved to a diskette from which INSTALL.EXE is to be used,  as indicated
  30.     above.  You may also run INSTALL.EXE from your downloads directory *IF*
  31.     you are installing to a *DIFFERENT* logical drive from the one in which
  32.     INSTALL.EXE exists.  Do not attempt to install TO a floppy drive.

  35.   For an alternative installation, copy the self-extracting file __009.EXE to
  36.   a directory and simply execute that file.   __009.EXE may then be deleted
  37.   from the directory.  Use of INSTALL.EXE provides verification along with
  38.   installation and provides opportunity to print the documentation (about 14
  39.   pages).

  41.   In the program itself, press <Alt-M> to access the on-line documentation.

  43.   After a new installation, the following 8 files must be present in the
  44.   \VIDEONX directory for a complete installation:

  55.   Several index files (*.ix) will be built when the program first executes.

  58.   Version 1.1 changes:  we modified the Searchr text search facility with a
  59.   completely new alogorithm which provides faster and more extensive searches.

  70. Possible problems with DOS 6.x:
  71. ƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒƒ
  72. If you are using DOS 6.x and are utilizing the EMM386 memory manager that
  73. comes with DOS 6.x, the potential for system lockups exists in running this
  74. or other programs which use expanded memory.
  75.  
  76. If the user installs DOS 6 and uses the MEMMAKER utility to help load things
  77. high it will ask if there are programs that use EMS.  If you answer NO,
  78. MEMMAKER will add the NOEMS parameter to the EMM386 driver line, which
  79. increases the amount of high memory by 64K (i.e., the size of the pageframe
  80. - nice if you have lots of drivers to load high).  Unfortunately, this
  81. parameter has a different meaning with DOS 6 than it did with DOS 5.

  83. If problems should occur and you are using the NOEMS parameter on the EMM386
  84. line in your config.sys file, add the parameter NOVCPI after NOEMS.  Save the
  85. change and reboot.  It has also been suggested that you might omit the NOEMS
  86. parameter altogether.  If problems persist, and you are using the FRAME=NONE
  87. switch, you should remove that parameter.
